1. Curriculum (simply list the courses you attended, provide a succinct course description for each course + an assessment) :

1) EB3001 International Business Communication (obligatory for all international students)
- 4 hours a week (one hour lecture and 3 hours seminar)
- The lectures are based on business theories; seminars include group discussions, problem solving and other practical tasks, and language development (all within the context of business issues and topics). The main strategy of this course is the use of realistic business simulations which require students to research and analyse business problems and propose workable solutions.
- Assessments: Written reflective essay (individual) and an oral presentation (individual and in group).

2) EB3101: Globalisation and Business in International Corporate Communication (my choice)
- 3 hours a week (one hour lecture and two hours seminar)
- This course is about language and communication in the contemporary world of business. The focus is on International English and the contexts of communication relate to International Business, advertising, public relations and media.
- Assessments: An essay (individual), a portfolio of tasks (individual) and an oral presentation in groups.

3) LA2300 English Legal System for International Students (my choice)
- 3 hours a week (two hours lecture and an hour seminar)
- The module contains an introduction to the sources and institutions of the English Legal System. Furthermore the relationship between the United Kingdom and the European Union is examined. This course also enables the student to find the major sources of law with particular reference to information technology.
- Assessments: A written report (individual) and a presentation in groups.


2. Accommodation (where did you stay, was it any good, suggestions) :

I am very pleased with my accommodation. I shared a private house with 3 other girls (2 British and one girl from Lessius Institute). It was not that far from the university buildings (+ - 7 minutes till the library). The location of the house was also very good and calm.
I paid 50 pounds per week for my room (electricity, gas and water not included).
The house is situated on 10 Murray Street. I would recommend it for the students who are planning to study at UCLan next year.

3. Suggestions/recommendations that might be useful for future Erasmus-students :

- In general everything is very easy to find in Preston. So you do not need to plan everything before your arrival. There is a good train and bus system (not that expensive). The centre is also not that far (15 minutes from the library). There is an Aldi just next to one of the university buildings (8 minutes from the library).
- The university claims that it is necessary for international students to attend the orientation week, but I found, from my own experience, that this is not true. If you arrive a weekend before the actual lectures, you can still follow everything without difficulties.
- Student life in Preston is nice. There is always something to do, you will never get bored!
