Initials Student : Bristi Dias
Name of Partner University Abroad : University of Central Lancashire
Period of Your Stay : from September till December
1. Curriculum (simply list the courses you attended, provide a succinct course description for each course + an assessment) :
AL1013 Beg Spanish Lang & Culture: an elective, a Spanish course for beginners
EB3001 Int. Business Communication 3A: main course on international business communication; quite useful
EB3101 Globalisation & Bus. in ICC : an optional module on international media and news, advertising internationally and cross-culturally, international English as lingua franca; very useful and interesting and I would recommend it to other students
LA2300 Eng Legal System : an optional module on English legal system and how laws are made, how courts function, the legal profession in UK, the relationship between the UK and the EU, EU law and its impact; very interesting
2. Accommodation (where did you stay, was it any good, suggestions) :
It was a private accommodation registered with the University. I shared the house with three other girls, two of them were British, which was a nice opportunity to practice my English. But I did have some trouble with the heating system in my room, so I would like to suggest that the student asks the landlord or the landlady whether the heating works properly in the winter.
3. Suggestions/recommendations that might be useful for future Erasmus-students :
If you would like to travel in the UK during your stay in Preston, you should join the International student society which organizes various trips for a very reasonable price.
